Dress Code

Students should dress appropriately for school. Dress and appearance must not present health or safety concerns or cause distractions. Violation of the dress code is listed in the CODE OF CONDUCT as a Class I violation. The fourth (4th) violation will be treated as a Class II offense. 

Appropriate Dress for Girls:
skirts, jeans, or slacks w/top
dresses
Hemlines of skirts, dresses, shorts, etc. must be no more than four (4) inches above the knee

Appropriate Dress for Boys:                                                                                                                                                         pants, jeans, or shorts 

All Students must adhere to the following rules:

• Shoes must be worn at all times.

• Shoulder blades and midriffs must be covered.

• Undergarments must not be seen.

• Tank top straps must be at least two inches wide.

The following shall be considered inappropriate:

• clothing with suggestive, violent or derogatory pictures, phrases, or advertising of alcohol, tobacco, or drugs

• bare midriffs

• tanks without an outer covering

• muscle shirts

• mesh shirts without t-shirt underneath

• plunging necklines

• strapless garments

• bedroom shoes

• pajama-style pants

• sunglasses in building

• head coverings inside the building (hats, caps, scarves, etc.)

• pants/jeans with holes above the knees

• blankets

• chains/spike jewelry

• tennis shoes with wheels

• pants worn below the waist

• trench coats

• tongue rings, facial piercing, belly button rings, or other viewable piercings, with the exception of earrings

• Leggings may be worn if the top or shirt over the leggings is no more than 4 inches above the knee

Any other exceptions may be made by the principal/designee when physical or other circumstances warrant, for certain groups during performances or special activities as authorized by the principal/designee, and for religious garments as approved by the principal/designee.
