Corporal Punishment
The administration, faculty, and staff of Slocomb Elementary School strive to create an environment conducive to learning. It is very important that all students understand and follow school and classroom rules. When rules are not followed and the learning environment is disrupted, students will be disciplined according to the Geneva County Board of Education Code of Conduct. Corporal punishment (paddling) is used at times at our school. If a parent does not wish for his/her child to receive corporal punishment, it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to send a note to school each school year to inform the administration. If the child does not receive corporal punishment, alternative punishments will be used such as after school detention, alternative school, or suspension. (In or out of school suspension as decided by the administration.)
