My name is Brittany Hammonds.  This is my second year teaching at Slocomb Elementary, but my 5th year with Geneva County Schools.  I have lived in Slocomb since 2018 and consider it my "home."   I graduated from Troy University in 2010 with a Bachelor's in Psychology.  I always wanted to be a teacher, but felt like life had another plan.  After COVID shut everything down I decided that it was time to fulfill that dream.  In October 2020, I began pursuing a degree in Elementary Education.  I graduated from Western Governors University with my Masters in Elementary Education in May 2022.  I have taught kindergarten, fourth grade, and this year I look forward to teaching fifth grade.  

My husband Deven and I have four children.  Haylee is a sophomore at Slocomb High School.  Anabella is in 4th grade, Harper is in 2nd grade, and Anders is in Kindergarten.  My kids keep me very busy, but when I have extra time I enjoy shopping, traveling, listening to music, softball, and cooking.  I am very excited about this school year and can't wait to meet all of my new students and see some familiar faces.
