First Class Pre-K

Pre-K has a drawing each spring to fill our classes for the fall. A waiting list is maintained each year.

Pre-K information forms will be available online to fill out at the beginning of the school year. Parents will be provided a link and a password to complete all forms online at the beginning of the school year. Parents should ensure that they maintain a current email address to be able to receive the Pre-K information.

Pre-K parents must provide transportation daily. Students can not ride the bus.

Pre-K students must be dropped off at 7:45 and picked up at 2:15 in front of the gym unless it is raining. On rainy days, they will complete the drop-off/pick-up process in the bus loop at the back of the school.

What will my child learn?

  • They will study how to write their name, the letters in their name, number identification, letter and sound identification, important social skills, gross motor and fine motor skills, art, social studies, science, technology skills, and etc. throughout this school year.
  • We will include all of these subjects by teaching in themes(back to school, all about me, farm, and etc.) during this school year. We have included a tentative theme calendar in your parent packet to give you a better idea of the order of themes.
  • We will teach your child through a very hands-on and interactive approach throughout the use of our Smart Board, Large group setting, small group setting, centers, etc.
  • We do not utilize worksheets in Pre-K, and your child’s learning and work will be taught throughout an engaging learning environment.
  • Our goal is to teach your child through authentic learning opportunities throughout their school day. They will learn through purposeful  play, small group instruction led by both teachers, large group instruction, and individual instruction.
